Who is Rusty Mango Design?

RMD is owned and run by Greg and Liz Provians from Innisfail in Tropical North Queensland.

When we were looking for a distinct name for our business, we were inspired by businesses such as Blue Sky Frog and Quiksilver. We needed a name that people would not easily forget.

Our own inspiration was found in the backyard in Innisfail – a healthy, tall mango tree (before Cyclone Yasi). Beautiful to look at, this tree used to produce loads of fruit each mango season. However as the fruit grew to a decent size, it would turn a brown “rusty” colour and fall off to rot on the ground. Rusty Mango Design was born.

One of the questions we get asked the most is “What’s involved in getting a website made?”.

To help answer that very question, the team at Rusty Mango Design have shortened the process into four easy steps. If you are interested in a new site, please read on…

Let’s start talking straight away!

Send us an email using the contact form in the right-hand column of this page and we will ring you ASAP to talk about exactly what you need in a site and how much it will cost. We will give you a “ball park” figure over the phone and follow that up with a detailed quote listing all the requirements from our conversation.

Once you have approved the quote, work starts on the design of a unique website template using any logos, graphics or photography that you would like incorporated into the framework of your site. This template image will be sent to you via email for your consideration.

Feedback is essential at this stage of production so make sure you are totally honest about the things that you like in the design and those things that you would like changed. We take these changes on board and incorporate them into a second design proposal.

Once the design has received your tick of approval, we then “slice and dice” it into a website. The first draft of pages are created along with the adaptable menu system. Image slideshows are included at this stage along with contact forms and any other optional extras that you may like in your website.

Once again, the site will be submitted for your approval. We fully test all sites for functionality and grammatical errors are checked over and corrected. The site is stored in a temporary directory on the server until you are entirely happy.

The final step simply involves the switch from testing to fully active. Your website is online! We submit the site to Google for you however it may take a few weeks for the search giant to actually start listing your website.

In the meantime, use some of the helpful tips from our Blog and Podcast to ensure that your new site is getting maximum exposure. With thousands of sites being launched every day, a website must stand out from the crowd to reach its full potential.

Rusty Mango Design is with you every step of the way. Once your site is launched, we’ll always be there with helpful hints and trouble-shootings tips. Let us know if you want additional functions for your site or just the occasional freshen-up. We want all our clients’ sites to be a success and we will work with you every step of the way!

    26th March 2013

As a web design professional, I use technical terms everyday that are now second nature to me. Once I have worked with a client for a few months, I notice that some of those words become second-nature to them as well.
